A Mystical Meeting with Neith
“I open to the divine flow of the universe and receive all that comes to me with ease, grace and gratitude. “
Over the last few months these words have been my spirit mantra. I have repeated this mantra many times each day and I’ve experienced amazing changes in my life, relationships, community and work. This mantra came to me as a result of some deep spiritual release work done with a new soul friend and teacher, Padma Aon Prakasha, and during a Phoenix Rising session with another healer/soul friend, Sherry Wells. A surprise visit from an eight-legged friend (a spider) in the middle of the night also played a role in this transformation. It was divine timing that allowed these powerful words to embed themselves into my heart, mind and soul. “There is no such thing as time, and … timing is everything” as said by my friend, Padma!
I have known for a long time that I am one heck of a manifester. I fearlessly and courageously tackle whatever my inner voice tells me to do, always with a “Yes, I/We Can” attitude that would impress even Barack Obama.
There is, however, place in consciousness with which I have not been in full alignment – that of creating from Source. Don’t misunderstand me, I always seek my higher power’s will for what ever I bring into manifestation, but I often forget to allow the flow of the universe to take charge. My method is to get the download from spirit and then take charge and make it happen! This was fine when I was a younger person of 30, 40 and even 50. However, as I approach my 56th birthday, I find I need to examine my assumptions and attitudes and seek a gentler way.
In April of this year, right after the Wise Wolf Women’s Council, I received a serious spider bite. I became quite ill with a high fever, nausea, chills, and a large welt on my inner left thigh that looked like an oddly shaped heart. It was encircled and outlined with a thin white line, which an article on the Internet said often indicated a bite from a black widow spider. The night before I dreamt about a beautiful spider with bright, black, shiny eyes. She told me that in ancient Egypt she was called Neith and that she was the original creator, the One Source of the Universe. She told me that everything in creation came from within her magical body and that she birthed creation with almost no effort. She opened her womb and out poured this magnificent creation which she spun into a cohesive web. She then lay back in her web as if it were a big cosmic hammock in the sky and dreamed that whatever she desired would soon enter into her web. She showed me how easily she captured her food. Any offending or undesirable objects, such as bad tasting bugs, she removed from her web with a flick of one of her legs. The rain formed droplets that ran like a gentle river along the strands of her masterfully built web and into her open and thirsty spider mouth. If the weather became too tumultuous, she simply pulled the strands back into her belly and sauntered off to a safe bush or cave and then rolled out her beautiful web of plenty once again. Although I was at first intimidated by Neith, I was inspired by her wisdom teachings and grateful and honored that she chose to share them with me.
You can imagine my surprise when I realized that I had most likely been bitten the very night she had entered into my dream! Neith’s message hit - or should I say – “bit” me hard and I have been paying attention to her wisdom ever since. I have had an awakening that tells me that while I am a powerful manifester, I have been using way too much of my life force energy in birthing my creations. This is an old pattern for me; one I come by naturally from family of origin and cultural impressions. It is a pattern that I am more than ready to release into a higher octave.

Sara Curran's Donation
Venus Rising has recently been the recipient of an incredibly generous donation from Sara Curran that has allowed us to purchase the cabin, yurt and land belonging to our soul sister, Anyaa McAndrew. Anyaa and her beloved, Gary Stamper, have purchased adjacent land where they plan to build their dream home, complete with a group room for Anyaa to continue offering her incredibly transformative Shamanic Priestess Process and other healing work and a fully equipped office for Gary.
Venus Rising has for some time had an ambitious dream of creating a healing-waters spa/pool facility for the visitors and residents of Isis Cove. We envision it as a nurturing and therapeutic facet of our shamanic and transformative process. Sara Curran enthusiastically shares our dream and a small portion of her donation is dedicated toward a fund for the future spa. We look forward to this place where water journeys, rebirthing, relaxation and exercise can all be offered, and the sacred quadrinity of body, mind, emotions and Spirit can be honored as they are in all aspects of Isis Cove.

The Path of the Shamanic Priestess

Power is our sacred birthright, yet many of us have disowned it due to the destructive ways we have felt and witnessed its misuse on the planet. As women, we often view “power over” or warrior~achiever mentality as good enough reason to stay away from power. However, we walk very differently on an empowerment path when we are fully encouraged to be with our soul as the source of our power.
The soul itself is described as feminine by many. She is wild, willful, chaotic, earthy, sensual, sweet, empathic, merging, deeply emotional, passionate and compassionate. The soul could also be described as shamanic. She dives deep into the earth on her human journey, gathering jewels to take back to Spirit, which can be seen as masculine. The soul does not care about rules, dogma, or right and wrong, as she seeks pure experience through all the realms and layers of life in a body. The cycles of life and death, joy and sorrow, balance and chaos, light and dark are the natural shamanic realms of the soul, and of the Feminine, once she is reconnected to her inner wisdom.
The priestess archetype is found in all religions throughout time, yet has been lost somewhere in our psyches for the past few thousand years. She is the vehicle through which the Divine Feminine, or the exiled Goddess, is returning to earth. Women everywhere are awakening to their Divine and Sacred selves, no matter what she is called. The priestess path is one vehicle for this return, while the shamanic path is another. Priestess consciousness teaches us to live our lives in a sacred way in service to the world, while shamanic consciousness teaches us about the natural cycles of death and rebirth, shadow and light, human and divine. Both show us how to embody both human and the divine through spiritual initiation and embracing transformation for the greater purpose of living our deepest and most powerful sacred purpose.

Announcing a brand new SHIP!
We are happy to announce the dates for our 2009 Shamanic Healing Initiatory Process. The new format of three 8-day workshops has proved to be extremely popular. We currently have three full SHIPs in progress and look forward to continuing with this format next year.
The dates for the 2009 SHIP workshops are: February 13 - 20, May 15 - 22 and September 11 - 18.
We are currently accepting applications for both the 2009 participant SHIP and the ApprenticeSHIP. Remember that all who have completed the SHIP process are invited back to go through again as an Apprentice. At the end of the process, participants are awarded certification as Shamanic Breathwork (tm) Initiates and are eligible to be ordained as Shamanic Ministers. Apprentices are awarded certification as either a Shamanic Breathwork (tm) Facilitator or as a Master Practitioner (for those already certified as Facilitators).

Venus Rising is mourning the loss of a beloved member of our soul family.
Clay Taylor, 23, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 25, 2008. Clay was a delightful young man - funny, sweet, loving, and an incredibly talented artist and musician. Our hearts were stolen away by this kind and gentle soul. We believe that a part of his spirit lives on here at Isis Cove and that his gentleness and loving nature will touch all who come here.
We extend our love and deepest sympathy to his mother Connie, his father John, his brother Jordan and to Connie's partner and Venus Rising graduate Paul Henderson.
